Follow the red lines in each illustration to learn exactly what to draw in that step. The lines drawn in previous steps are shown in gray. Here, we'll show you an illustration of each step and then give you a description of how to draw it.

To draw a cartoon baby, start by drawing the head, cheeks, chin, and an oval for the body.

Step 1: Begin with a circle for the head. Overlap it with an oval for the cheeks and chin. Underneath the oval, draw a slightly overlapping egg-shaped body.

When drawing a cartoon baby, draw the shapes that will represent the eyes, nose, mouth, arms, hands, and feet.

Step 2: Show the eyes as partial ovals. Connect part of a small oval to a tiny U-shape for the nose. Shape the mouth with a wavy line and a broad U-shape. Sketch the arms using curved lines.

For the hand on your left, use a U-shape and a rounded V-shape. Use an oval for the hand on your right. Show the feet with large, very rounded triangles. Attach them to the body with short curved lines.

When drawing a daisy, add ears and fingers. Define the face, body, and feet. Start drawing the diaper.

Step 3: Draw U-shaped ears. Detail the eyes with tiny circles and U-shapes. Place a curved line under each eye. Add short curved lines to the ends of the mouth. Define the chin and cheeks with longer curved lines.

For the fingers, use long U-shapes and curved lines. Outline the body so the middle bulges out. Form the diaper using curved lines. Use U-shapes and curves to show the toes. Redraw the feet so they curve in slightly.

When drawing a cartoon baby, add hair, eyebrows, the tongue, and belly button. Complete the diaper and draw a rattle.
Step 4: Add hair with curves. Put a curlicue in each ear. Form comma-shaped eyebrows and short eyelashes. Attach two lines for the tongue. Shape the cheeks, collarbones and a teardrop-shaped belly button.

In the diaper, draw two lines. Add a line on each side of the waist. Shape the feet. Use a small oval, large oval, straight line, and curved lines for the rattle. Crisscross lines to show movement.

To finish drawing a cartoon baby, darken the belly button, pupils, and inside of the mouth. Thicken the eyelashes.
Step 5: Darken all of each pupil except for the tiny circle drawn previously. Also darken the inside of the mouth and the belly button. Make the eyelashes thicker.

Use diagonal lines to partially darken the stripe on the rattle. Shade the rattle with many short lines.

Your cartoon baby looks great
